From Anna

With your pants hanging way down low,

A cheeky grin spread across your face.

You always brought pure joy with you,

As well as a warm embrace.

Your sunkissed hair dancing in the wind,

And a laugh that came from deep inside.

You always were our sunny boy,

You will forever be by our side.

With a board in hand, you felt at home,

Be it skate-, or surf-  or snow-,

There was that time you tried fire sticks

And set your hair aglow.

Always willing to try new things

Unless it was a carb,

Your Cauliflower consumption

Has left us all quite scarred

Your love of nature evident

In everything you did.

From your gardening escapades to saving turtles,

You were an outdoor kid

Your skin all peppered with memories,

Of your adventures past.

In the time that you were here,

You clearly had a blast.

You used to tease me about the number

Of shoes in my possession,

It took until now for me to find out,

We share the same obsession.

As best man you stood by our side,

when we said I do.

And now our children climb onto your lap

To giggle and play with you.

Pick me up uncle Jake!

Chase me uncle Jake!

You’re it! 1,2,3,4

Whatever the game, you were up for it,

and never said no when they asked for more.

Though not bound by blood but friendship,

My little brother you will always be.

I will cherish all our memories,

They will live on forever in me.

I don’t know how to say good bye,

I know that I don’t want to

All that I can say Jakey

is that we miss you and will always love you.
